Achievement dividends (nicknamed 'Emmitts' since Emmitt Smith received the first
of these special dividends for breaking the all time NFL rushing record) are given
out for various major awards in each sport. They are also given out to players who
break major records they don't already hold. Since the normal stock dividends encompass
only stats earned in an individual game, these special dividends are a way of honoring
players who do something, well, special. Not all 'Emmitts' will receive the same percentage
dividend; they will generally fall into 2 groups- one earning a couple percentage points
higher than the other to somewhat correlate with the achievement.
Reaching an individual milestone would NOT be considered 'Emmitt worthy' (i.e. becoming
the 10th goalie to reach 500 wins) unless that milestone also establishes a league record
as well. While there could potentially be other awards or achievements not specifically
mentioned here that are deemed worthy of consideration, below are some guidelines to follow.
Achievement dividends will be given out at 9pm eastern time the day after the award or achievement takes place.
