The rules on stock splits continues to evolve, as can be noted by the changes in price and ratio over the years. Stocks reaching split price a second time are sold down so that 100,000 shares is that largest holding of an individual stock. After testing daytrading of NBA and NHL stock splits, the test was changed on 2/28/2011 to allow people to either daytrade 50,000 shares or hold 100,000 shares of all stock splits.
